Hot diggity dog

Stout and Jake, my furry sons, make me laugh every day.  How many people in your life can do that?  Someone like Dane Cook, Greg Behrendt, or Chelsea Handler might be able to make the average person laugh every day, but most people just aren't that humorous.  Come to think of it, most comedians aren't equipped to be that funny every day

Stout is a prince, he thinks, but sometimes he'll get goofy and play hide-and-seek with a grin only dogs can wear.  For an eight year old (rather large) miniature pinscher, he's pretty full of it.

Posing for the Old Navy dog competition...he didn't win.  It was rigged.

Lollygagging on the bed

Jake, on the other hand, is the court jester.  A one year old Jack Russell Terrier, Jake makes no attempt at being suave or sophisticated.  He's all about the drama, hyperbole, and the crickets...I'll spare you cricket details.

As I write this he's struggling to keep his eyes open after a long day of naps, chasing squirrels/crickets/butteflies, dashing in and out of his pool, warding off the mailmail, and snuggling with mom and dad.  When someone said "it's a dog's life", they had Jake in mind.  Unless he's sleeping or snuggling, he's always on the move.

Playing with Merlin.  See the orange cones?  They're for creating training obstacle courses.

Playing with Oliver.  Jake looks like a wild beast, but he's just playing.  It's the only way to truly wear out His Goofiness.

I'll write more about both, but for now just know they're my little dose of unadulterated happiness every day.  They're also doing very well in their training.  Here's a photo of them with just a few pals from their off-leash group through Team Dog!  All I have to do is say "Place!" and point to that stump, for instance, and they jump up and stay until released.  Agility training is next.  Then, time to take over the world.
